We are happy to introduce our last summer intern to #TeamJWA, Courtney Yancey!
Courtney Yancey is a rising senior at The University of Texas at Austin and is pursuing a degree in Public Relations at Moody College of Communications and minoring in Business. She has learned to love Austin but is ecstatic to be back in her hometown to work for #TeamJWA this summer!
Through UT Austin’s Moody College of Communications and The Stan Richards School of Advertising & Public Relations, Courtney has been enrolled in various academic courses that have allowed her to gain hands on experience of communication strategies and real life agency work.
When Courtney isn’t at school, she spends her time working as Vice President of Event Planning for her sorority, Pi Beta Phi (Texas Alpha Chapter). She has worked on planning and executing all sorority events as well as the University’s sorority recruitment. Her favorite part of the job is that she is in constant communication with the 200 chapter members, her Executive Board members, and the Pi Beta Phi National Headquarters. Throughout this role, Courtney has learned the importance of being in a leadership position. Courtney has also been given the privilege of being apart of UT Austin’s Discovery Scholars Program. She attends monthly meetings and collaborates with students in the program socially and academically to promote relationship building throughout the campus.
In her free time, she likes to socialize with friends, spend time with her family, and revisit her childhood dance studio for dance lessons! Courtney’s future goals are to graduate from UT Austin in the spring of 2020 and attend graduate school. She is very excited to be back in Dallas this summer and is looking forward to interning with J. Waylon & Associates.
